About Humane Society University
Humane Society University (HSU) is a private, nonprofit institution offering a variety of graduate, undergraduate, and non-credit professional development programs in human-animal studies. Based in Washington, D.C., HSU is the first higher education institution in the country licensed to provide Bachelor of Science degrees and graduate certificates exclusively dedicated to human-animal studies.
HSU was restructured in March 2009 and now includes two independent schools. This website hosts the School of Professional Development, which offers non-credit online courses, professional certificate programs, and onsite workshops in animal care, shelter management, humane education, and advocacy throughout the United States.
Our new website, www.humanesocietyuniversity.org, is home for the School of Arts and Sciences, which offers undergraduate degrees and graduate certificates in Animal Studies, Animal Policy & Advocacy, and Humane Leadership. Coursework is taught in online, hybrid, and traditional classroom formats.
HSU will consolidate both websites in early 2010.
