Duties

The shelter manager oversees the daily care of the animals, including hiring and supervising animal caretakers and maintenance staff.  Maintaining high care standards, including obeying rules and regulations, is the manager’s responsibility.


Education and Background

Courses in business administration and animal health and behavior are recommended.  Experience working in a shelter, with demonstrated traits such as attention to detail and reliability, are essential.
