Course Description
This course explores how to create and maintain a board of directors that is actively engaged in its stewardship functions of governance, leadership, and management. Participants will examine the responsibilities and structures that must be implemented in order to have an effective board and a successful organization.
This 5-week course is part of the Executive Leadership Certificate Program.
Course Objectives
This course will provide animal care organization executives with knowledge in the following areas:
· Strategic planning
· Policy-making
· Fundraising and financial oversight
· Board recruitment, orientation, and evaluation
· Executive director/board relationships
